About the organization

Domestic Healthcare Clinic

We are a Christian faith-based Federally Qualified Health Center passionate about our mission, to honor Jesus Christ by providing accessible, comprehensive health care in partnership with our patients and community leading to healthy, changed lives. We care for patients holistically: mind, body and spirit. Our core values include a focus on the underserved, cherishing everyone as Christ does, sharing Christ’s love in word and deed, working in a spirit of prayer, partnering with churches, and honoring God through integrity and excellence.

Our history helps to further clarify our mission and values. Crossroad was founded in 1992 based on a conviction that God has a special concern for the poor. This conviction emerged from a Bible study of the Sycamore Street Fellowship Bible study, named after the street in Cincinnati’s inner-city neighborhood of Over-the-Rhine where two of Crossroad’s founders were living. One of Crossroad’s guiding scriptures is Christ’s words recorded in Matthew’s gospel: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

The philosophy of community development articulated by the African-American civil rights leader John Perkins, founder of Christian Community Health Fellowship, was instrumental in shaping Crossroad’s birth, aiming for reconciliation with our neighbors across all socioeconomic boundaries, in partnership with local churches. Crossroad was launched in a small neighborhood center with the goal of addressing the needs of the whole person, including behavioral health and spiritual care. Crossroad now has approximately 40,000 patient visits per year and functions out of five locations. We are bigger and more complex, but we still want to touch one heart at a time with the healing love and power of Jesus Christ.

At Crossroad, we provide patients with a true medical home. Our providers care for everyone from newborns to older adults. Our services include:

Primary Care: We provide a full range of services, including care for acute and chronic illnesses, routine checkups, immunizations, sports physicals, preventive care and more.

Behavioral Health: If it’s time to make some changes, our health coaches can help patients create a healthier lifestyle – from losing weight to dealing with depression.

Prenatal Care: Our prenatal patients can get the care they need while they are pregnant.  Our doctors can spot and treat any problems quickly to keep patients and babies healthy.

Women’s Health Care: Women of all ages can receive well-women gynecological checkups. We focus on preventive care and treat a full range of women’s health issues.

Medication-Assisted Treatment for Addiction: If patients want help in overcoming an opioid or alcohol addiction, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) can help reduce cravings and prevent relapse. Our on-staff counselors can also offer new ways to overcome addiction.
